Getting a Free Quote can be easy if you have the right information at hand when you call.
We can generally give you an approximate price right there on the phone without having to arrange a visit if you can provide some of the following information:
Did the door panel smash into a million pieces or is it holding together?
This will help us determine if the existing glass is Toughened Grade A safety glass (shatters into a million pieces or Laminated Safety Glass (holds together) – see diagram below
Is the broken panel below or above your waist when you stand next to it?
We ask this question as if it is below your waist, generally a thicker piece of glass would need to be installed (most cases 5mm annealed).
This panel is considered to be below your waist so would generally be reglazed with 5mm annealed
Is the broken panel next to the door eg a side lite panel?
If so, this could mean it may need to be replaced with Grade A Safety Glass.
The approximate size – Height x Width
Use a tape measure or if you don’t have one use a piece of paper (A4) as they are close to 30cm to get an approximate measurement. You don’t need to measure the whole window just the panel that needs to be replaced.
The colour of the glass (clear, obscure, grey, tint applied)
You can hold a business card or white piece of paper behind your glass and look through it. You might notice a tint like grey, bronze or green/blue (energy efficient glass).
Is the broken panel a window or a door?
This will help us determine if Grade A safety Glass will need to be installed.
