Supporting the community has always been at the heart of what we do at True Blue Glass. If you’ve been following us for a while, you will be aware that Founder Bill Leavey was diagnosed with Dementia in early 2025 and has since been advocating for education across Australia since his diagnosis. That is why we are incredibly proud to sponsor Bill and Jenny Leavey, as they take part in the Walking the Talk for Dementia 2026 event in Spain.

Walking the Talk for Dementia (WTD) is a unique global initiative that combines a physical challenge with meaningful conversations about dementia. Participants walk approximately 40 kilometres along the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route over four days before coming together for a two-day symposium focused on collaboration, learning, and action. The event brings together people living with dementia, carers, researchers, clinicians, advocates, and organisations from around the world who are committed to improving understanding and support for dementia. WTD is not just about exchanging ideas, it’s about driving real change.

Bill and Jenny will be joining this inspiring group of advocates, walking not only as a personal challenge but to raise awareness and help shift perceptions around dementia. Their journey reflects the spirit of the event, creating space for conversations, learning from lived experiences, and supporting people living with dementia and their families.

We are honoured to support them on this meaningful journey. Our commitment to dementia awareness is something we take very seriously. Over the years, we have actively worked to become a dementia-friendly workplace, supporting staff, customers, and the broader community through education, awareness, and advocacy. We believe businesses have a responsibility to help create communities where people living with dementia feel understood, supported, and included.

Everyone at True Blue Glass wishes Bill and Jenny the very best as they prepare for this incredible journey. Walking for such an important cause is no small feat, and we are proud to stand behind them every step of the way as they help raise awareness and drive positive change for people living with dementia.
